Everett Frank ‘Butch’ McElfresh, 59, of North Belle Vernon, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp. Born January 1, 1959 in N. Charleroi, he was the son of Everette H. and Geraldine Kearns McElfresh of Monessen. A resident of North Belle Vernon for the past 37 years, Mr. McElfresh was Baptist by faith and a retired teacher from SCI Fayette Prison, LaBelle.

Butch loved to spend time with his grandchildren going to their sports activities and taking them fishing at the Island House, West Virginia. He coached baseball for many years, enjoyed cigars and was a member of the Naomi Athletic Club. He is survived by his wife Debra Atkins McElfresh to whom he was married 37 years; children Melissa Monack & husband James of Perryopolis; Chadd McElfresh & wife Jamie of Belle Vernon; Jennifer McElfresh & Fiancé Darren Derwacter of Columbus, Ohio, five grandchildren Tyler & Allie Monack, Dominic & Taylor Derwacter, Christopher McElfresh and sister Tammy McElfresh & fiancé Chuck Witmer of Hershey.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-7:30 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183 followed by funeral services at 7:30 PM in the funeral home with the Minister Dennis Stitch of Mount Sinai Baptist Church officiating.
