Evonne Elma Otto passed away Saturday evening, May 25, 2019 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague. She was 84 years old. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29th at Trinity Ev.

Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Tim Redfield will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. on Tuesday, May 28th at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine with a 6:30p.m. Legion Auxiliary prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine Evonne was born July 30, 1934 to John and Alma (Schmidt) Stier in Minneapolis.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine; graduated from Belle Plaine High School in May of 1952. Evonne worked in downtown Minneapolis at Investors Diversified as a key puncher. She married Wallace H. Otto on November 5, 1954 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.

They lived in Fairborn, Ohio while Wallace served at Wright-Patterson Air Force base and she worked at the local Chevrolet dealership. In 1956, they moved back to Belle Plaine, where Evonne started her own business, Evonne’s Flowers, operating it for 34 years; retiring in 1997. They were blessed with five children.

Evonne enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, polka music, dancing, camping, fishing, going out to breakfast on Thursday mornings, and spending time with family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and 500 Card Club. Evonne is survived by her children, Dale (Lori) Otto of Jordan, Diane Otto of Belle Plaine, LaNae (Duane) Barta of Belle Plaine, Brian (Claudia) Otto of New Prague, Craig (Julie) Otto of Belle Plaine.

Grandchildren, Amber (Mike) Anderson, Britani (Mike) Rodriguez, Eli Otto, Kaycee (Demian) Rebers, Chelsea Barta, Nicole Colton, Elizabeth Otto (fiancé Matt Piquette), Ashley Otto, Brant Otto, Luke (Kayla) Otto, Emily Otto (fiancé Matthew Kahle), Alec Otto, Jack Otto and Patrick Otto. Four Step Grandchildren, Seleana, Chas, Pierce & Parris; Twelve Great Grandchildren, brother, Darrell (Barb Siemieniewski) Stier of Le Center, Sisters in law, Gladys Mathwig of Glencoe, Marlys (Elroy) Koepp of Belle Plaine & Mary Ann (Roger) Sons of Norwood Young America. Many Nieces & Nephews.

Evonne was preceded in death by her husband Wallace, parents, John & Alma Stier, father in law and mother in law, Herbert & Marie Otto, sister and brother in law, Marilyn & Norman Koepp, sister in law, Marvella Stier, brother in law and sister in law, Lowell & Eileen Otto, brother in law Gilbert Mathwig, nephews, Gary Stier & Kevin Stier, and niece Susan Koepp.
