Mrs. Fannie “Kate” Hounshel Bradford Tripp, 95, of Freetown, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Majestic Care in North Vernon. She was born in Dunbar, Virginia to the late Hiram and Dora Mae (Dean) Hounshel. Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday, February 24 at 1 pm with Bro.

R. Lynn Hounshel officiating. Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday from 11 am until time of service.

She was married to Emerson Tripp; he preceded her in death on June 18, 1978. She worked for Rose Acre Farms for 27 years as an egg gatherer. Kate attended Seymour Christ Temple.

She would always thank the Lord for all her strength she had during her lifetime and for Him following her every step of the way. Growing up, Kate enjoyed hand piecing quilts, tending her vegetable garden and canning the fruits of her labors. She is survived by her son, Larry (Sherri) Bradford; grandchildren, Larry E. (Adriane) Bradford Jr., Jamie Bradford, Jennifer and Dustin Crussel, Kelly (Dillon) Burton, Jeffrey and Erin Bradford; and several great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandchildren, Michael Jeffrey Bradford and Samantha Bradford; 3 infant brothers, as well as brothers, Clyde Hounshel, Elmer Hounshel and Carl Henry Hounshel; and an infant sister, as well as sisters, Mary Dillman and Lillie Shipe.
