Fay Deer November 04, 1923 – January 30, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Fay Deer, 95, and life time resident of McComb, MS passed away January 30, 2019 at McComb Nursing and Rehab of McComb, MS. Visitation for Ms Fay will be at Central Baptist Church Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. with services at 11:00. Dr. David Millican will be officiating.

Burial will be in Pike Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb, MS. Ms Fay was born November 4, 1923 in Amite county and the 5th child of Gladys Marie Carraway Kirkland and Steve Kirkland. She is preceded in death by her parents , one sister, Mrs. J.C. Grace Kirkland Whittington, and two brothers, John J. (Bud) Kirkland and Carey J. Kirkland and daughter in-law, Brenda A. Deer.

She also now joins her loving husband, Jessie Ray Deer. Her loving son, Paul Leon Deer of McComb, MS. and brother, Rayford Kirkland of San Antonio, TX.

along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins are left to remember her. Ms Fay worked for McComb Manufacturing and also worked alongside her husband at the Texaco Station on Broadway in downtown McComb, MS. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church even up until her health failed her at Christmas 2018.

She was devoted to her church and was there every opportunity she could. She served her church in many capacities including singing in the choir, Sunday School worker, WMU and member of the Ball Club. Pallbearers will be: Randall Allen, David Busby, Hubert Deer, Keith Deer, Michael Deer, and Bill Worley.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus and McComb Nursing and Rehab Center for their care, and special friends Connie Simmons and Karen Allen. Also a special thanks to all the members of Central Baptist Church for their prayers, visits and friendship to Ms Fay.
