Florence “Granny” Ethel Beasley, 99, of Urbana, passed away surrounded by her family at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Mahomet. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, July 23, 2018 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd. , Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, July 23rd, at the funeral home, with Pastor Rich Gregory Officiating. Burial will be held at Shiloh Cemetery in Mahomet. Mrs. Beasley was born September 24, 1918 in Mahomet, Illinois to parents Hiram T. and Mary Ellen (Todd) Bailey; they preceded her in death.

She married C. Tug Beasley in 1949; he preceded her in death in 1999. Florence is survived by daughter, Lola Landgraver, of Urbana and grandchildren: Lee Landgraver (Cyndy), of Mahomet, Pat Landgraver, of Champaign, Lynn Dillman, of Savoy, Ed Neeley (Linda), of Champaign, Sheila Dockery (Chuck), of Branson, Missouri, and Donovan Stewart. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Florence was preceded in death by three children: Infant daughter, Betty Lou Withers, daughter, Joann Neeley, son, Bob Stewart, and three grandchildren: Danny Landgraver, Connie Clark, and Robert Neeley. Before becoming a full-time homemaker, Florence worked at Bromley Hall, a University of Illinois dormitory. She volunteered for Disabled Americans Veterans Chapter 8 Women’s Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the Urbana V.F.W. Post #630.

She loved to play slot machines, bingo and scratch off lottery tickets. Mrs. Beasley was the beloved matriarch of her family and will be deeply missed. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
