Our loving Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother, Florence Helen Kim Gordon Johnson, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018. Florence was born on August 7, 1918 in Salt Lake City, UT to Charles A. Kim and Ingaborg M. Kim. She was the third of four girls.

Florence’s mother passed away when she was four years old. Because of this, she became a very hard worker, and had a strong relationship with her Father. Joy, is one of the best ways to describe the life that Florence lived.

She always had a smile on her face, and had strong relationships with so many people surrounding her. On September 15, 1936, Florence married Alvin H. “Tone” Gordon. They were later sealed on December 30, 1957.

They were married for 38 years and raised three wonderful children, Elaine, Kim, and David. Florence and Tone were very active and enjoyed bowling, softball, waterskiing and many other activities. Tone passed away in 1975.

Florence later married a former grade-school acquaintance, Ralph Gustav Johnson, where she continued to live a very active lifestyle. He passed away in 2013. She was very competitive, which was evident by her many golf, bowling, and softball trophies, blue ribbons at the county fair, and three holes-in-one!

She absolutely loved to play golf, and was still swinging the clubs on her 100th birthday. Many of the life lessons she learned on the golf course matriculated into her own life as she said, “Be happy. It is easy to do the wrong thing and be miserable.

Always do what you love”. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ingaborg, her two sisters, Ruth and Irma, her son David, her great-grandson Joseph, and her great-granddaughter Zoie. She is survived by her sister Harriet, her daughter Elaine, her son Kim, stepdaughter Karen McCormack, 13 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 41 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Dawson Hollow Ward, 2435 E Cherry Ln, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.

She will be buried next to her husband Alvin.
