Floyd “Booner” Brown, age 81, of North Cove, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 17, 2018 after a period of declining health. Booner was born on April 13, 1937 in McDowell County. He used to own Brown’s saw mill with his brother Lens.

After working in the logging business he went into construction. Booner will be remembered as a friend to all and for his gentleness. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Freeman Brown, three sisters, and four brothers.

Booner is survived by his nephew Blake Chapman and wife Peggy of Morganton; care givers and friends Ronnie and Elizabeth Buchanan of Spruce Pine; his sister, Margaret Brown of Forest City; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Darvey Hensley officiating. The visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Following the service he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Barbara in the Biddix Cemetery.
