Sandra Kuykendall Stapleton, age 68, of Nebo, passed away at her residence following a 10-year battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. The daughter of the late Carol and Ailene Howell Kuykendall, she was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on May 5, 1950. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Anita Vardiman; one step daughter, Angela Stapleton; one grandson, Frederick Badgero III; two great grandsons, Thumper Vardiman and Kayden Shelton; and five siblings.

A member of Candler House of Prayer in Candler, Sandra loved to read her bible and listen to gospel music, enjoyed cooking, but most of all, she loved the Lord and spending time with her family, who supported her during the 10-year battle. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Hubert Stapleton of the home; one daughter, Melissa Badgero of Leicester; one son, Frederick Badgero of Asheville; four step children, Tina Bagwell of Asheville, Misty Ball (Chad) of Marion, Kim Stapleton (Travis) of Nebo and Jamie Manning (Mike) of Marion; one sister, Patty Revis of Asheville; nineteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at a later date.
