Robert “Pudge” Arrowood, age 69, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at his residence with his family at his side. A native of McDowell County, born February 12, 1949, he was the son of the late Robert and Maxine Romine Arrowood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Patton Arrowood.

Following 30 years of service, Pudge retired from Verizon. Up until his health began to decline, fishing and hunting was a major part of his life. He was a member of Ridgeway Free Will Baptist Church in Marion.

Pudge is survived by his daughter, Amy Arrowood Ward (Michael); one brother, Norman Arrowood (Wanda); and two sisters, Shirley Hensley (John) and Pat Vaughn (Larry). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. John Crowder, Rev.

Jimmy Upton and Pastor Tim Sigmon officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
