Rosa Mae Odom Proctor, age 90, of Marion, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Autumn Care of Marion. A native of McDowell County, Rosa was born on December 1, 1928 to the late Horace Odom and Lucy Presnell Gregory. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty seven years, Marshall Proctor and one brother, Allen Odom.

She was a former member of Clinchfield United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Rosa took many classes at McDowell Technical Community College over the years including her favorite, oil painting. Left to cherish her memory are three children, Wayne Proctor and wife Pam, Linda Mace and husband Jack, and Diane Spencer and husband Ken, all of Marion; one brother, Theodore, and wife, Hazel, of Statesville NC, six grandchildren, Dean Mace, Cynthia Rapan, Kathy Proctor, Erica Cavenaugh, Amanda Conley and Heather Taylor; and seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Mace, Alex Mace, Suzanne Proctor, Sarah Rapan, Thomas Rapan, Landon Callahan and Taylor Stockton, and two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason.

A funeral service will take place on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverend Bruce Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
