Fondren’s Obituary Fondren M. “Snookie” Fulwood, Jr., 82, of Mt. Bethel, PA, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg, PA. Snookie was born in Tampa, FL on January 9, 1937, a son of the late Dora (Flowers) and Fondren M. Fulwood, Sr

He was the husband of Frances “Fran” (Beresch) Fulwood. Snookie was a graduate of Turkey Creek “Strawberry” High School in Plant City, FL. He was employed as an Insulator working for Union Local 67, Insulators Union out of Tampa, FL, until retiring in 2002.

Snookie was a volunteer for over 20 years for Northampton County Meals on Wheels and was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2015 from the State of PA. Snookie also volunteered for over 20 years and was a member of the Board of Directors at the Portland – Upper Mt. Bethel Food Pantry (PUMP).

Snookie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a former member of Dover Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dover, FL, where he served as a Deacon for over 20 years. In addition to his loving wife and companion, Fran, for over 30 years, Snookie is survived by two daughters, Fonda Alorda, wife of Rudy, and Jancey Stevens, wife of Bill, two sons, Fondren “Mitch” Fulwood, III, husband of Vonda, and Perry Fulwood, a stepson, Sean Bellis, a sister, Josephine Springfield, two brothers, Marvin and Samuel Fulwood, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Austin Fulwood Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, “Village of Johnsonville”, Bangor, PA, with Rev. David Felker, officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 – 11 AM on Monday, June 3, 2019, at the funeral home.

Burial will be held in Riverview Cemetery, Portland, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Portland – Upper Mt. Bethel Food Pantry ( P.U.M.P.
