FRANCES ‘FRANCIE’ MAYER April 01, 1928 – November 30, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Frances ‘Francie’ Mayer, 90, Anamoose, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Her funeral will be held Friday, December 7, at 10:30 A. M. at St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church in Anamoose. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P. M. followed by a 7:00 P. M. prayer service, all at the church.

Burial will take place Friday at 3:00 P. M. at the Riverview Cemetery in Washburn. Frances Marie Boehm, daughter of Steven and Frieda (Boschee) Boehm, was born April 1, 1928 at Pickardville, ND where she grew up and attended country school. As a young girl, she worked for her grandparents and later for the Gov.

John Davis family before meeting the love of her life, Francis H. Mayer. They were united in marriage on September 1, 1947 in McClusky and made their home on the Mayer farm north of Anamoose where Frances worked at Francis’s side, farming and milking cows. They remained on the farm until Francis passed away in 2016.

Frances was a member of St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church of Anamoose where she served on various Ladies Circles over the years. She was also a member of the Anamoose Senior Citizens Club and the local Homemakers Club, never missing a chance to host the other ladies. Frances traveled extensively with Francis.

An awesome cook and baker, her pies and bread were coveted by all. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing & quilting, crocheting, embroidering and gardening. She is survived by 1 son, Gary (Donna) Mayer of Rapid City, SD; 1 daughter, Vickie Mayer of Washburn; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Tami) of Rugby, Ryan of Rapid City, Dr. Tessa (Michael) Kemp of Woodbury, MN and Dr. Sara Mayer (Michael) of Edina, MN; 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Jayden and Gillian; 6 sisters, Barbara Heinle, Kathy (Richard) Wiest, Carol Kupiszewski, Jackie (Dave) Kulackowski, Loretta Boehm and Bernadette (Craig) Rooker; 1 brother-in-law, Don (Clara Ann) Mayer; 4 sisters-in-law, Clem Boehm, Jeri Ann Boehm, Karen Boehm and Marcella Nudell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her son, Gale; her parents; 4 brothers, Richard, Pat, Arlin and Dennis; 1 sister, Margaret Fredricks; and 3 sisters-in-law, Velda Boehm, Estella Rudnick and Marie Michelson. Online condolences may be shared at nelsonfuneralhomesnd.com.
