Frances Gesell December 22, 1920 – February 11, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Frances Gesell, 98, of Connersville, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, at Caroleton Manor in Connersville. She was born on December 22, 1920, in Harrisburg, Indiana, and is the daughter of Wilbur Gibbs and Elsie May Shipley Gibbs. She graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1939 and attended Indiana Business College in Richmond.

She worked as a bookkeeper for National Loan Company. On December 22, 1944, she married Lurton E. Gesell at Central Christian Church in Connersville. They shared almost 58 years together before he passed on November 10, 2002.

Frances was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a charter member of Harrisburg Union Church since 1951. She sang in various church choirs and was a member of the North American Bluebird Society.

Since 1951, she was also a charter member of the Rebecca Lodge. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Martha Gesell Bergman, her special friend, Mary D. Gray, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation for Frances will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am on Friday, February 15th at the funeral home, with Pastor John Reynolds, of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
