Henry Karim Zand Guttman of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on February 5, 2019. Hank was born in Connersville on May 18, 1968, and was the son of Dick Guttman of Connersville and Shahla Fisher of Camarillo, California. Hank started his education in Connersville at Happytime Preschool.

He moved to Los Angeles with his sister and mother and graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1986. He attended San Diego State University and received two degrees, in both Religion and history, from Valley College in Los Angeles. Hank was a fine tennis player and an enthusiastic sports fan.

His favorite teams were the Cincinnati Reds and Indiana Pacers. He also liked the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes. Hank and his dad attended scores of games in the past 30 years.

Hank was proud of his heritage, his father’s Jewish religion and his mother’s heritage in Iran. His great, great, (etc. ) grandfather was Shah (King) of Iran (Persia), Karim Kahn Zand, who ruled Iran from 1751-1779, and was considered one of the greatest leaders of that country.

Hank was a film buff and loved movies. “The Godfather” was his favorite and he loved any movie of Martin Scorsese. Survivors include his parents; grandmother, Forough Zand of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Tehran, Iran; sister, Susan Lynn Guttman of Sherman Oaks, California; half-sister, Kathlyn Guttman of Connersville; half-brother, Jacob Guttman of Bloomington, Indiana; aunts, Shahin Zand of Baltimore and Peggy Van Hulsteyn of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and uncle Robert Guttman of Alexandria, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Gene and Jane Guttman of Connersville, and grandfather, Taghi Zand, from Tehran, Iran. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Rabbi Samford Kopnick will officiate.
