Mrs. Myrtle Frances Pennix Poteat age 88 of 504 Morgan Terrance transitioned on May 5, 2018 at the Above and Beyond Rehabilitation. Mrs. Frances as she was affectionately known was the daughter of the late Mr. Junious Pennix and Mrs. Ollie Mae Daye Pennix. She was the wife of the late Mr. Philmo Poteat.

Mrs. Frances was preceded in death also by a daughter, Phyllis Adrienne Poteat and her only sibling, Mildred Caldwell. Frances is survived by her loving daughter, Marisa Gayle Poteat and many cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Frances retired from Alamance Burlington School System where she worked at Hillcrest Elementary School.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Apple St. where she served as a Missionary and attended the Women’s Sunday school Class and Bible study for as long as her health would allow her to attend. She served her community as a volunteer with Alamance Hospice. The family would like to extend special thanks to her niece Elaine Poteat, Karen Patterson at “Above & Beyond” and to the staff of Hospice- Alamance-Caswell.
