Obituary for Frances “Ginny” Roy (Daly) Frances Virginia “Ginny” Roy (nee Daly), age 93, of Westminster, died, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Carroll Hospice, Inc. – Dove House in Westminster, MD. She was born January 18, 1925, in Worcester, MA, the daughter of the late Francis Daly and the late Pauline Lucke Daly. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Alfred Roy of 65 years.

She attended Worcester City, MA public schools, then went on to Worcester City Hospital where she received her RN. Working then as an Army Corp Cadet Nurse. Upon moving to Maryland she worked at various Maryland hospitals, including Union Memorial hospital and the old Baltimore County General Hospital.

Eventually retiring after working 20 years as a school nurse with the Baltimore County School System. She was a Homemaker, raising five children. Ginny was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Sodality and Wisdom Club and, after retirement, volunteered at Carroll Hospital Center.

She also loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her 5 children; Kathleen Harvey & husband Don, Michael Roy & wife Linda, Joanne Jones & husband Pete, David Roy & wife, Margie, and John Roy and his late wife Sandra. Also survived by 13 grandchildren; Kevin Roy, Danie Ridgway & husband Adam, Christine Applewhite & husband Douglas, Kerri Davis & husband Justin, Kelly Louviere & husband Chris, Bryan Roy & wife Emily, Drew Engles, Thomas Harvey & wife Ashley, Kenneth Roy, Timothy Harvey and wife Tory, Mary Oswald & husband Mike, Shannon Roy and Alex Roy; and 12 great-grandchildren; Isabella, Sullivan, Brennan, William, Sloane, Ava, Reid, Laine, Corbin, Bodie, Violet and a new great granddaughter due in July; sister of the late Robert and Richard Daly and wives.

Also preceded by an infant baby son. Further survived by sister-in-laws Lorraine Roy, and Florence Daly and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road.

, Sykesville, MD 21784 (BESIDE SOUTH CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL) on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM; with a Vigil Wake Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Liturgy (MASS) will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157. Interment will be held later at Arlington National Cemetery.
