Gordon Holmes Hayne, 81, of Eldersburg, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, Maryland. Born April 17, 1937 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gordon Moore and Grace Holmes Hayne. He was the husband of Barbara Hayne (nee Harrison).

They had been married for 57 years. Gordon had retired from the U.S. Government in 1997. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959.

He was also a Master Mason and a long-standing member of Freedom Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Sykesville where he taught catechism for many years. He was passionate about animals; Gordon and his wife were dog lovers and rescued many over the years. He also had a great love of the outdoors.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Gordon is survived by daughters, Debra Hayne and Julie A. Lee along with her husband Richard. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 11:00AM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to Gilchrist 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350 Hunt Valley, MD 21031. .
