Obituary for Francis “Frank” Champagne Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved father and grandfather passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. Age 82 years.

The son of the late Roland and Ruth (Conley) Champagne, Frank was born January 6, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the United States Army. Frank married Mary Lou Archambault on November 29, 1958.

She predeceased him March 14, 2018. Following his days in the Army, Frank was a lifelong entrepreneur and co-founded Champagne & Marx Excavating and STOR & LOK Storage Company. He enjoyed landscaping, genealogy, going to the family cabin in Sterling and was an avid classic car enthusiast.

Frank alongside Mary Lou were caregivers of their oldest son for 13 years. In later years, Frank was a caregiver to Mary Lou who had Alzheimer’s. Frank was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and current member of St. John Paul II Parish and the French Canadian Heritage Association.

Surviving to cherish his memory are four sons, Frank J. Champagne, Joseph P. Champagne, James L. (Gale) Champagne, Anthony J. (Lisa) Champagne; seven grandchildren; his siblings, Tom (Olga) Champagne, Larry (Marilyn) Champagne, Kathleen (Richard) Malesky and Mary Ellen (Mike) Mullally; many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Sharleen (Jerry) Lunt. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck, Saginaw.

Rev. Fr. James Bessert will officiate.

Burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.

A Vigil Service will take place 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
