Francisco Hector “Pancho” Diaz, age 89, entered into rest on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Del Rio. He was born on April 19, 1929 in Concepcion Del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico. Preceding him in death were his parents, Juanita Niño Diaz and Isidoro Diaz; brother, Ernesto Diaz.

Francisco’s trade was carpentry. One of the many projects he was most proud of was helping to build the Lake Amistad Dam from 1966 to 1969. Family members left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria Teresa Diaz; children: Patricia Diaz, Juanita Diaz, Yazmin Diaz, Maggie Roman (Joe Roman Jr.), and Sergio Diaz (Reyna I. Diaz); grandchildren: Guillermo Sanchez, Sergio Diaz (Margarita Martinez), Lisa Yanelli Diaz, Eduardo Sanchez, Jesse Campos, Erica Diaz, Elysa Sofia Santiago, Jose I. Roman III, and Summer Jo Roman; great grandchildren, Katie Ann Diaz and Sergio Diaz III; Francisco is also survived by his best friend, Luis Moreno.

Other relatives include his numerous nephews, nieces and many others. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. A Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 (church & time pending).

Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Guillermo Sanchez, Sergio Diaz, Sergio Diaz Jr., Eduardo Sanchez, Jorge Barajas, and Joe I.
