Obituary for Frank J. Wenzel Jr Frank J. Wenzel, Jr., 97, of Aurora, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara. He was born July 30, 1920 in Goodman, WI, son of the late Frank Sr. and Anna (Lang) Wenzel. Frank graduated from Goodman High School in 1939 and was a lifelong resident of the area.

He was a US Army veteran of WWII and proudly served his country for three years. Frank married the love of his life, Constance Simons, on June 6, 1942 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Goodman, WI. Connie preceded him in death on May 15, 2018 after nearly 76 years of marriage.

Frank started out as a farmer and he also worked for Ford Motor Co. prior to opening his own business, Escanaba Freight Sales, which he operated for several years. He was a devout catholic and faithful member of American Martyrs Church and the Knights of Columbus. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and water skiing.

Frank is survived by five sons, Francis Wenzel, Anthony (GeorgeAnn) Wenzel and Mark (Mary) Wenzel, all of Aurora, WI, Paul Wenzel of Florence, WI, and Jeffery (Cindy) Wenzel of Aurora; two daughters, Roxanne (Roy) Rintala of Aurora, WI, Veronica Olson of Grand Rapids, MI; seventeen grandchildren, Jennifer Wenzel, Wayne Wenzel, Brenda Buchner, Curt Wenzel, Robert Erdman, Melissa Brodeur, Lisa Freeman, Lori Olson, Eric Olson, Alan Wenzel, Andrew Gibbons, Jonathan Wenzel, Daniel Wenzel, Jaclyn Wenzel, Terese Wenzel, Elizabeth Wenzel and Phillip Wenzel; thirteen great-grandchildren, Dominic Wenzel, Aubrielle Wenzel, Courtney Wenzel, Peyton Allred, Tyler Buchner, Kayla Wenzel, Paige Lindow, Mia Brodeur, Ethan Freeman, Josh Freeman, Emma Olson, Brayden Olson and Ava Olson; a brother, Bernard Wenzel; a sister, Theresa Page; a brother-in-law, Bruce Stuart and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, David Wenzel; an infant grandson, Samuel Wenzel; two brothers, Fr. Edward Wenzel and Joseph Wenzel; two sisters, Mary (sister St. Francis Wenzel) and Dolores McNamara; and a daughter-in-law, Kristina Wenzel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday June 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr.

Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at the Homestead Aurora Cemetery. Frank’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
