Franklin A. Post, age 85, of Appleton, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, February 15, 2019 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton. Frank was born in Oshkosh on March 22, 1933 to the late Franklin B. and Altha (Parker) Post. Frank graduated with the class of 51 at Appleton High School.

On April 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Carol Stoffel. The couple enjoyed 58 years together until Carol’s passing in 2014. Frank worked as a machine operator for many years at Kimberly Clark, retiring in 1991.

He also helped run the family business with his mother, the Curve In Tavern in Menasha. Frank liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed traveling the country with his family and spending a lot of time with them at their family cottage on White Lake – where he also enjoyed spending time with the Brooks family.

He was a devoted Catholic and belonged to both St. Pius and St. Therese Catholic Church’s, and also belonged to various Bible study groups. He will be missed by his 3 sons: Jon (Julie), of Sherwood, James (Susan) of Appleton, and Eric Post, of Appleton; 3 daughters: Sharon (Jeremy) McNew, Little Chute, Ann Haterington, Appleton, and Laurie Bender, Appleton; 15 grandchildren: Samuel, Peter, Calvin, Amy, Nicole, Stacey, Ashley, Ryan, Tyler, Megan, Katie, Kristen, Allen, Lindsey, and Jack; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Beth (special friend Al Riojas) Laux, Appleton; 3 sisters-in-law: Mary (Dave) Brooks, Menasha, Rosie Stoffel, Little Chute, and Marilyn Stoffel, Milwaukee. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 sons, Jeffrey and Allen, a sister, Nancy Van Grinsven, a brother, Jim (Delores) Post, father and mother-in-law Clair and Marie Stoffel, and 4 brothers-in-law: Mark Laux, and John, Dennis, and Clair “Fritz” Stoffel. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11 am on Saturday, February 23, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Ave. Appleton, with Father Ryan Starks officiating.

Friends may visit at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel on Friday from 4 to 7 pm, with parish prayer service at 7, and directly at the church on Saturday from 9 am until 10:45 am. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Frank’s caregivers – especially the staff at Brewster Village. I have fought the good fight; I have completed the course; I have kept the faith.
