Frederick’s Obituary Frederick Carl Hansen, 64, Minot, left this earth too soon on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Fred was born a son of Fredrick and Myrtle Hansen of Carpio ND. He was 4th of 7 children.

Fred graduated Carpio High School in 1972. Shortly after that he began working at Dakota Meats where he met his best friend and wife, Virginia (Ginger) Kraft from Granville. The two were united in marriage on April 21, 1978 in Minot.

Fred and Ginger were married 35 years until her death on August 16, 2013. During those years they were blessed with 3 sons, Nathan (Amanda) Hansen, Daniel (Brittany) Hansen, Brandyn (Kay) Hansen and a daughter Nicole. Fred was the very proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren.

Samantha, August, Elias and Annabelle. Fred worked multiple jobs over his lifetime spending over 30 years at Spartan Nash, 10 years at Menards and most recently at Wal-Mart. Fred was actively involved with Boy Scout troops 416 and 433.

He loved helping the young scouts earn merit badges and encouraged them through the ranks. Fred was a member of Moose Lodge 822. He loved helping the ladies with the monthly Sunday morning breakfast.

Fred sang many Sundays with the St. Johns choir which brought him great joy. For anyone that crossed paths with Fred, you may know that he had the gift of gab and never met a stranger. He loved volunteering.

In particular he enjoyed supporting musical events such as Rock the Leaves which was put on by his son Daniel. He is survived by his sons; sister Chris (Darrell) Stambaugh, Glenburn ND, Martha (Westlie) Carlson, Minot ND, Sharon Hansen, Strasburg, CO, Larry (Mary) Hansen, Carpio, ND, Laurie Lepel, Rapid City SD, Bill (Pam) Hansen Cumberland, WI and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Myrtle Hansen, wife, Virginia, and infant daughter Nicole.

Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2019 from 3 to 5 p.m. Vigil Prayer Service will be at 5 at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Minot. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
