Frederick “Fritz” Brinker, age 88, of Perrysburg, OH passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1930 in Pemberville, OH to Herbert and Philmina (Fahrer) Brinker. He married Doris Bookenberger, on November 10, 1951 in Pemberville.

Fritz and Doris raised 1 daughter and celebrated nearly years 61 years of marriage before Doris passed in February of 2012. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and later in Japan. He then worked as a custodian for St. John Lutheran Church for a number of years where he was also a member before finally retiring. He volunteered at the Friends of Wood County Parks, was a member of the Troy-Webster American Legion Post #240, Lotus Easter Star, Paragon Lodge #788 F & A.M., Lake Twp. Goers, Natl Campers & Hikers Association and The Ohio Conservation Club.

Fritz enjoyed the great-outdoors including; camping, bird watching, flowers, traveling and painting. Family remained important to him and they were among his greatest joy. Fritz is survived by his daughter; Pam (Tony Stewart) Porter of Perrysburg, grandchildren: Michelle Goldsby, Michael (Tiffany) Porter, great-grandchildren: Emily, Landon, Ethan and Aubrey, sisters: Naomi Heilman, Shirley (Glenn) Rahe, Phyllis (Dale) Duquette and special friend, Anita Nietz.

In addition to his wife Doris, he was preceded in death by his parents, grandson-in-law: Josh Goldsby and brother, Dale Brinker. Family and friends will be received 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stony Ridge, OH, where services will be conducted at 12 p.m. with Pastor Cindy Ritter, Officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg, OH.

A bereavement luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall, immediately following the service in the church. Memorial contributions may take the form of contributions to: The Wood County Park District or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
