Obituary of Garrett Fardink Garrett J. Fardink, 65, of 18 Fairmount Ave. Jamestown, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, he was born April 3, 1953 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Albert and Erma O’Dell Fardink.

Before his retirement he was employed by the Panama Central School System as a custodian for several years and had also worked for Advanced Auto Parts. He was a former member of the Ashville Fire Department and will be remembered as one who loved hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and loved going to the car races. He also loved spending time with his family and close friends.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Carol J. Patterson Fardink, four sons; John (Delta) Fardink of Warren, PA, Paul (Melissa) Fardink of Kennedy, NY, Garrett (Jenny) Fardink, Jr. of Ft. Campbell, KY, Jerry (Tammy) Fardink of Ashville, NY, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother; Charles (Susan) Fardink of Ashville, NY, and two sisters; Alberta Allison of Mayville, NY, Amy Hayes of Sumter, SC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sabin Fardink, a brother, Gary Fardink and a sister, Margaret Rooney.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, January 6, 2019, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. David Olson, pastor of the Ross Mills Church of God will officiate.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1645 West 8th St. Erie, PA 16505-5097.
