Gary Janisse, 62 of Indian River passed away on January 27, 2019 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Gary was born on August 16, 1956 in Detroit, MI, the son of Fredrick Janisse and Dorothy (Derrick) Janisse. He grew up in Livonia.

On April 9, 1994 he married Carolyn Schoolcraft in Indian River at the old Methodist Church. Gary enjoyed Rock n’ Roll, his motorcycle and his jeep. He was a free spirit who when riding his motorcycle loved the open air in his hair.

Most of all, Gary harbored unconditional love for his family, friends, and his dog. Everyone that knew him will remember his very humorous spirit. Gary is survived by his wife Carolyn, children Sean (Teighlor) Janisse, Seth Janisse, Avon (Mehgan) Raber, and Kimberly Raber, grandchildren, siblings Lisa (Gary) Abundis, Angie Janisse, and Tony (Jill) Janisse, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Services for Gary will be held at the Lintz Funeral Home on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1pm and a memorial service at 3pm.
