Born on August 20, 1923, Genevieve was a daughter of Oliver Denison Jr. and Louise (Porter) Denison. Gen leaves behind her sister, Barbara Flora and husband, Howard, of Ledyard and her sister-in-law, Nancy Denison.

She was predeceased by her brother, Oliver Denison III. Genevieve grew up in Quiambaug before her family moved to their home in Mystic where she remained for all but the final year of her long life. After completing accounting and bookkeeping courses at New London Business College, Genevieve worked in the administrative office at The Mystic Oral School for 32 years.

Genevieve was a tenth generation descendant of Capt. George Denison who first settled Mystic in 1654. In addition to her sister and sister-in-law, Genevieve leaves behind nine nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Gen was blessed to have a faithful network of friends and relatives who provided care, company, and assistance over the years, especially her nieces, Deborah Miceli and Judith Flora, friend, Cindy Thibdeau, in-home caregiver, Esther, and caring neighbors, Maurice and Kathleen Clark and Michael and Kelly Longo. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Mary Elizabeth Apple in Mystic for their care during her recent stay. Funeral services and burial will be private.
