Genevieve G. Chehovits, 97, a resident of St. John Specialty Care, Mars, formerly of New Sewickley, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018. She was born July 8, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pa. , to the late Adam and Stella Maczynski Malinowski.

She was a cook for many years at the Economy Elementary School and later worked for a catering company in Ambridge. She was a member Good Samaritan Catholic Church, Ambridge, Economy Senior Citizens, and Economy Women’s Club. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Joseph J. Chehovits; a son, Kenneth Chehovits; three infant siblings; a sister, Salma Bader; and a brother, Chester Malinowski.

Surviving are three children, Joan Bungo of Ambridge, and Robert Chehovits and Shirley Peters, both of New Sewickley, Twp. ; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joann Chehovits; nieces/sisters, Theresa Fausti of Economy and Beverly Dawson of Baden; and many other numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC.

, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will be offered Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Good Samaritan Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery.
