Geoffrey’s Obituary Geoffrey Colin Lewis passed away on March 20th, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Tina Smith, daughter Cynthia Smith, parents Stan and Lynn Lewis, sister Sara Lewis, brother Ben Lewis, and niece Olivia Lewis. Geoffrey was born on November 15th, 1982 in Dallas, TX to Stan and Lynn, who later gave birth to his sister Sara and brother Ben.
Geoff loved both of his siblings dearly and always wanted to protect them, even if he had to get into a fight to do so. Growing up, Geoff loved to spend time with all of his family and grandparents, but had such admiration for his Papa Charlie, who was from Alabama, which caused him to grow up loving Alabama football. Geoff was a graduate of Lakeview Centennial High School in 2001 where he played both baseball and football, and met some of his closest friends.
After his graduation, he attended Eastfield College briefly before finally getting his Associates at Cedar Valley College and became an Automotive Technician. He completed his college all while working with his dad and uncle Mike, at their family owned store, Stuart’s Grocery. Geoff was hired by Garland ISD as an automotive and diesel mechanic.
He always bragged about how many buses GISD owned, and always said none of the buses he worked on would ever break down. While working for Garland, Geoff moved in with his brother and niece in Rowlett. His sister would always come and visit as often as she could to play pool, cornhole, or just to have a few drinks.
Every weekend you could find Geoff and Ben in their recliners watching college football, the Cowboys, or the Rangers, and Geoff would be shouting Roll Tide just to make his brother mad. Once the games were over, it was always time for dominoes. Geoff loved to play 42 with his parents and brother, and would plunge and lose 4 marks every chance he could get.
When Geoff wasn’t at home or at work, you could typically find him at Applebee’s having dollar beers with good friends and giving all the bartenders grief. This is where he met Tina, who was the manager/bartender. Geoff was always hitting on her and asking her out to no avail, then finally Tina agreed and they hit it off.
Tina introduced Geoff to her daughter, Cynthia, shortly after they started seeing each other, and Geoff fell in love with both of them. They moved in together in 2017 in Garland and always had a loving and caring relationship. Geoff left this world on March 20th, but we know he’s with his grandparents playing 42, drinking whiskey, and rooting on the Cowboys and his Crimson Tide.
His infectious smile and goofy laugh will always be in our hearts, and we will always remember him for his honesty, sincerity, and the love he had for all of his friends and family.
