Obituary for George S. Shearer Sr. George S. Shearer, Sr., 85, Antis Township died Thursday afternoon December 13, 2018 at the home of his son in Bellwood. He was born October 5, 1933 in Petersburg son of the late George and Edna (Carolus) Shearer. He married Eleanor F. McCaulley on March 11, 1959 in Bellwood and she preceded him in death on July 16, 1986.

Surviving are four sons, Gary (Judy) Mills of Altoona, George S., Jr. (Tanya) of Bellwood, Michael L. (Brenda) of Altoona and Douglas A. (Cammy) of Bellwood; two daughters, Deborah (Bob) Deters of Richmond, Va. and Mona J. (Bill) Harren of Altoona; seventeen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant son, Jamie and a daughter, Gladys McConnell.

He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. George retired as a warehouseman at Frye Metals, Altoona. George enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, December 17, 2018 at the funeral home, Pastor John Poe officiating.
