Obituary for Mr. George Vernon ‘V.O.’ Owens A graveside service for Mr. George Vernon ‘V.O.’ Owens, 81, of Oxford, will be on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm at DeArmanville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on the same day from noon until 1:30 pm at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Owens passed away on June 14, 2018 at RMC.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Betty Cochran; sisters, Judith Owens Green and Glenda Ann Wright; nieces, Kelly Green Kaplan (Joseph) and Amanda Wright; great nephews, Vernon David DeJesus (Brandi), Harley Daniel DeJesus and Jacob Donal Kaplan; great niece, Lilianna Claire Kaplan; great great niece, Brailey Aleshia DeJesus, and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, George K. and Levis Owens and a niece, Aleshia Wright DeJesus. Mr. Owens was the owner of Owens Grocery Store in Oxford.

He was a lifelong resident of Oxford. Mr. Owens was a former employee of Lee Brass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to your favorite charity.
