Mr. Powell attended The Family Church and was a retired iron worker who was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening and tending to his livestock. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

Born Thursday, September 4, 1947 in Jonesboro, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Powell, his mother, Lora Robinson Powell; brother, Sammie Powell; grandson, William Powell. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sheila Powell; children, Andy Prine, Chris Powell (Mandi), Brandi Powell (Billy) and Cody Powell (Traci); grandchildren, Hailey, Camden, Kaden, Dalton, Alexa, Corbin, Lathon, Carter and Adalyn; sister, Sue Holman (Roger). Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at The Family Church with Rev.

Joel Hines Rev. H.W. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of services. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Billy Collins, Andy Prine, Chris Powell, Anthony Williams, Todd Lemoine and Cody Powell.
