Obituary for Gerald Wayne Bennett Gerald Wayne Bennett, 83, of Cave City, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home. He was born March 27, 1935 in Kensett, Arkansas to the late Garvin Velmer and Edna Delores (Ramsey) Bennett. Gerald was a retired United States Navy Veteran, a Master Mason, active in the Evening Shade VFW post, and also a member of the Mt.

View California, DeAnza Lodge No. 194. He enjoyed oval track and drag racing.

He was a very knowledgeable mechanic and good at what he did. He is survived by his children, Sheila Allen, Valerie Allen, Ben Bennett and Anita Kearney; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Delores Marshall of Morton, IL, Carolyn Defoor (Jurld) of Drasco, Ed Bennett (Lodema) of St. Joseph, MI, Stan Bennett (Sally) of Lake Placid, FL, Shirley Gatchell (Don) of Benton Harbor, MI, Gail Heimke (Howard) of Alpena, MI, Deb Taylor of Grand Rapids, MI, Loretta Mills of Niles, MI and Jeff Bennett of Little Rock. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cindy; a brother, Harold “Buddy” Bennett and a sister, Joann Krueger.

Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob with services beginning immediately at 1:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow in the Kensett Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
