Geraldine Gerry Taylor , January 09, 1931 — April 12, 2018

Geraldine F. Taylor, 87, of Center Twp. , Aliquippa, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. Born January 9, 1931 in Crafton, the middle of nine children born to the late Samuel and Grace (Fitch) Klinvex, she was a graduate of Shaler High School.

She was the beloved wife of Jerry M. Taylor, and the loving mother of three sons, Carl (Leanne) Parise, Nicky (Marcia) Parise, and Steven Parise. Gerry’ s father was the Assistant Director of the Bureau of Customs for the Pittsburgh District for many years.

Because of his position, she was able to meet President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and was given a personal guided tour of the White House. One of her distinctions was that she was one of the first Newspaper Delivery Girls when newspapers were always delivered by only boys. Her first job was as a Telephone Operator for Bell Telephone.

She was later employed as a Laboratory Technician by PPG Industries, where one year she was selected as “ Miss PPG”, to represent the company. Gerry was a longtime member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Center Twp. , and was active in several of the ladies groups, including the Homemakers.

During her final few years, she made her home at Harbour Senior Living of South Hills, located on Greentree Road, in Pittsburgh. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8pm at Tatalovich Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., CENTER TWP. , 3475 Brodhead Rd.

, Monaca, PA. 15061, where a service will be held Tuesday at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Center Twp. 10am, with Fr.

Martin Bartel, officiating. Private interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Donations in her memory may be made to the dedicated hospice caretakers, who took care of her during her last months.
