HIRAM Gerard “Joe” Robine, 82 years of age, passed away Monday April 16, 2018 following a period of failing health. Joe was born in Lilly, Pennsylvania on December 1, 1935, the son of the late John and Mildred (Bearer) Robine . He was a resident of the Hiram area the past 44 years.

Joe had been employed at Ford Motor Company Walton Hills Stamping Plant, retiring in 1994 after 34 years of faithful service. While there, he was a member of UAW Local 420 which he took great pride in his membership. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Marine Corps.

A longtime active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua, he also was a member of Mantua Knights of Columbus Council No. 3766. While he enjoyed gardening, fishing and going to the casinos, his family will forever cherish the memories of a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that were so very important to him.

On September 19, 1959, he married his beloved wife Anne T. Robine who preceded him in death on June 14, 2014. Also preceding was a great-grandchild Ian Dolman. Joe is survived by his devoted children Jeffrey (Juli) Robine of Mantua, Joseph (Pam) Robine of Hiram, Jeannette (Deni) Hottensmith of Vermilion, Ohio and Jennifer (Don) Roberts of Hiram; dear siblings John (Margie) Robine of Cresson, Pennsylvania, David (Theresa) Robine of Leland, North Carolina, Rita (Joseph) Gerycz of Twinsburg, Ohio and Lois Duscha of York, Pennsylvania.

10 loving grandchild and 17 great-grandchildren also survive. Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where closing prayers will be said Saturday at 10:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday April 21, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 11045 Sty.

Joseph Blvd. , Mantua, Ohio 44255 at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. Edward Stafford.

Military honors will be observed at the church following mass by the U.S.Marine Corps Honor Guard, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Final resting place will be at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua Village, Ohio.
