STREETSBORO-MANTUA Dorothy E. Elnikar, 98 years of age, passed away Monday June 11, 2018 at her residence. Born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Geary) Butt. A Greensboro, Pennsylvania resident for 56 years, she moved to Mantua in 1995 and then to Streetsboro in 2016.

Mrs. Elnikar had been employed as a cook for 16 years at Mapletown, Pennsylvania Schools. She held memberships in the Mapletown Methodist Church, and was an associate member of the United Mine Worker’s of America. She will fondly be remembered for the baking and cooking that she did for family and friends, and the bread rolls she made for the schools.

On February 6, 1937, she married her beloved husband Stanley A. “Pup” Elnikar who preceded her in death on June 5, 2003. Also preceding were her dear siblings Walter Butt, Jr., Betty Higdon, Margaret Sharpton and Alice Skach. She is survived by her devoted children Stanley (Carol) Elnikar of Streetsboro and Janet (Earl Pamfilie) McClure of Mantua; her dear siblings William Butt of Mantua and Preston Butt of Mt.

Morris, Pennsylvania; 4 loving grandchildren Kimberly (Tom) Wilcox, Stanley T. Elnikar, Lynn Rae (Bob Bystricky) Derthick and Chris (Sue) McClure; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255.

Additional calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Yoskovich Funeral Home 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pennsylvania 15320, where her funeral service will be held Saturday June 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. William Parker, following which final resting place will be at Greene County Memorial Park, Greene County, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
