RAVENNA-SHALERSVILLE Janice C. “Jan” Willoughby, 78 years of age, passed away Friday June 1, 2018 at her residence. Jan was born in Alliance, Ohio on July 28, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Hillman) Cathon. A graduate of Mentor High School in 1957, she had been a resident of the Ravenna-Shalersville area since 1959.

She was employed as a Crestwood school bus driver retiring in 2001 after 40 years of dedicated service. She also was co-owner of J&J Equipment for over 27 years. Always involved with her family and community, Jan was a member of the Buckeye Model A Club, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and a Rainbow Mother Advisor, a Crestwood Ponytail League Sponsor, and grew trees with her husband Joe on the family farm in Shalersville.

Her involvement with family was always most important to Jan, and attending Mud Boggs with her grandchildren included even driving one of the grandchildren’s trucks much to the delight of everyone. The love that Jan had for all of her family, will only be duplicated by the same love that they had for her. While her passing saddens all who knew her, cherished memories will remain forever.

On April 18, 1959, she married her beloved husband Dewey M. “Joe” Willoughby who preceded her in death in 2013. She is survived by her devoted daughters Debra Wyers of Ravenna, Kimberly Pope of Garrettsville and JoAnn (Charles) Felter of Newport, Ohio; 5 loving grandchildren Charley Jo, Roxann, Sonny, Joseph and Bethaney; 10 loving great-grandchildren, and her cherished God Son Raymond Hess of Ravenna. Calling hours will be Sunday June 3, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt.

44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. where her funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Graveside burial services will be Monday June 4, 2018 10:00 A.M. at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township with military honors provided by U.S. Army Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
