Obituary for Glen Eric Treptow Glen Eric Treptow, age 66 of Ithaca, was born December 5, 1951 in Wahoo to Gerald and Doris (Erickson) Treptow. Glen was an Rh baby and spent the first three weeks of his life in a hospital in Omaha. He defied all odds and his parents brought him home on Christmas Eve.

Glen grew up on the family farm near Ithaca and attended school there through the eighth grade. He graduated from Mead High School in 1970. Glen graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a degree in Agricultural Economics and, on January 2, 1987, he married Jo Ann Tlustos in Louisville, Nebraska.

To this union was were born two sons, Mark and Don. They were Glen’s pride and joy. Glen was one of the first boy scouts in Ithaca to attain the rank of Eagle Scout.

He remained active in scouting for many years with his sons and also helped out with 4-H. Glen was active in the Ithaca community throughout his life where he served as School Board President, was a member of the Ithaca Village Board, and volunteered with the Ithaca Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. As a member of Alma Lutheran Church, Glen held various positions and could always be counted on to lend a hand whenever a job needed to be done.

He was a huge sports enthusiast and followed every UNL sporting event as well as all the teams in Saunders County. Glen was proud to work the land that has been in his family for 125 years. He grew grain, raised cattle and hogs, and sold crop insurance for most of his adult life.

Glen retired from farming at 11:27 am, March 6, 2018. Glen is survived by his wife Jo Ann Treptow; sons Mark Treptow and Don Treptow, all of Ithaca; sister Diann (James) Fuxa, Cypress, TX; sisters-in-law Donna (Ray) Albert, Louisville, NE, Judy Tlustos, Omaha; aunt Genevieve Christensen, Fremont; uncle Morris (Jean) Erickson, Mead. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to Alma Lutheran Church or to the Treptow family for a later designation. Casket Bearers will be Tim Erickson, Tom Erickson, Jason Fuxa, Alex Fuxa, Kevin Albert and Michael Barrett.
