Grace A. Potter, age 91, of Paw Paw passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and close friends, Monday, April 23, 2018, at Maple Lake Assisted Living in Paw Paw. Grace was born July 19, 1927, in Oak Park, Illinois the middle daughter of the late William J. and Edna (Nickel) Blaesing. After moving to Paw Paw in 1943 she studied music at Western Michigan University.

Grace was employed by the Van Buren Intermediate School District as Secretary to the Superintendent for 17 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw where she was the organist for 35 years, and member of the church choir. She was one of the last members of the Paw Paw Ad-a-Link Club.

On September 15, 1946, in Paw Paw Grace married Maxwell E. Potter who preceded her in death on April 25, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Wilma Rumsey of Paw Paw, and Virginia Davis of Banning, California. Surviving are son, Steven (Gloria) Potter of Glen Ellyn, IL, two daughters, Marcia Potter of Claremont, CA and Claudia Potter of Paw Paw; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Jorge) Sevilla of Naperville, IL and the Reverend Nathaniel Katz of Los Angeles, CA.

, two great-grandchildren, Javier and Giselle Sevilla, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends and hold a visitation on Sunday, April 29, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 721 Pine Street, Paw Paw. The funeral service and celebration of Grace’s life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.

Eric Gledhill officiating. Rev. Nat Katz will officiate at the graveside.
