Grace Louise Hendrickson, age 99, of Wayland, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018. She was born January 11, 1919 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of William Joseph and Grace Dexter (Ludwick) Whitt. She attended school in Battle Creek and worked at Michigan Carton in quality control for many years prior to her retirement.

On March 27, 1937 she was married to Elwood Louis Hendrickson in Battle Creek. Grace was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed snowmobiling and competitive archery. She was a wonderful seamstress and did all types of needlework and crocheting.

Grace had a love for travel. She was a member of the Senior Tour Club and went white water rafting at the age of 80. Grace was preceded in death by her husband on December 20, 1985, her parents, daughter Diana Dann Alaniz, son Robert Hendrickson, three grandchildren: Vita Alaniz, Darrick Shelton and Priscilla Lewis, and three sisters: Helen Collyer, Nellie Rackley and Violet French.

Surviving are her three daughters: Shirley Ann (David) Niver, Rebecca Lee (Robert) Mason and Betty L. McAdow; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
