Died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Advantage Living Center, Battle Creek. Betz was born on February 1, 1945 in Kingston, PA the daughter of Charles and Helena (Swartwood) Fahey. She was a graduate of West Side Central High School, Kingston, PA in 1963.

On October 19, 1968 she was united in marriage to John Kaplan Jr. Betz completed her BA in Business from Northwood University in 1994. She worked for Denso in Battle Creek before retiring in May of 2006. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church (30-year St. John Vianney in Flint, MI).

She enjoyed playing mahjong with her friends, volunteering as various organizations including the Food Bank and socializing with her friends. Surviving are her children, Helena (Lena)(David) Seiver, Houston, TX, John (Becky) Kaplan, Fenton, MI and Angela (Larry) Huntley of Thompsonville, MI; 4 grandchildren, brothers, Tom (Helen) Fahey of Snohomish, WA and George (Betsy) Fahey of Luzerne, PA and sister, Helene (Ross) Megargel of Lake Ariel, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband John Kaplan, Jr., brothers Chuck and Frank Fahey and son Jason.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday August 20, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Inurnment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Food Bank of South Central Michigan. www.
