Gracie M. Howell, 101, of Fortville passed away. She was the daughter of Clayton and Luella (Dawson) McDonald. She lived in Fortville most of her life, but also lived in Florida for about 30 years.

Gracie worked at Downing’s Restaurant for many years and was also a hard-working farmer’s wife. Gracie is survived by daughters: Sara Jane (Ed) Brand and Lou Ann (Mike) Brown both of Fortville; grandchildren: James (Lori) Brand of Pendleton, Mark (Heather) Brown of Indianapolis and Kelly (Brian) Conner of Noblesville; great-grandchildren: Tyler & Madison Brand, Gavin Brown, Luke & Logan Conner. She was preceded in death by her husband James F. Howell, whom she married in 1938, son James E. Howell, grandson Scott E. Brand; her parents and 3 sisters and a brother.

Honoring Gracie’s wish a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www. sealsfuneralhome.com.
