Rev. Harold Swafford, age 83, of Wadsworth, Ohio went to be with his Lord June 5, 2018. Harold was born to Herbert and Grace Swafford on May 7, 1935 in Monterey, Tennessee.

He married the love of his life, Geraldine Vaughn, on July 5, 1955. He was a loving husband and father and a special Poppy to the grandchildren. Harold served his Lord for over 51 years as Assistant Pastor and Bus Director at Reimer Road Baptist Church.

His service for his Lord was evident in his love and care for people. He always made people feel special which was evident in his slogan on the green buses: “Where Everybody is Somebody”. Harold was preceded in death by wife, Geraldine; daughter, Connie Jarrett; son, Matthew Swafford; granddaughter, April Jarrett; parents, Herbert and Grace Swafford; and brother, Richard.

Harold is survived by children, Doug (Marla) Swafford of Dayton; Tammie (Glenn) Greenwood of Wadsworth; Skeet (Jesse) Swafford of Wadsworth; 8 grandchildren; brother, Charles (Shelia) Swafford of Bakersfield, CA; sister, Claudine Jackson of Barberton and sister, Cindy (Phil) Brady of Medina. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, June 8 at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 at Reimer Road Baptist Church, with the family receiving friends from 10:00 AM until the service.
