James (Jim) B. Gochenour Jr passed away July 17, 2018. He was born May 11, 1951 in Akron. He is preceded in death by his parents James Sr and Mildred and his grandson Andrew.

He leaves behind his fiance Diane LeFever and his children JB, Michael (Vanessa) Gochenour and Kara Tharp. Also his granchildren Kara (David) Beal, Alysa (Bill), Ricky, Brittany, Jasmine, Alexandra, Gabriel Gochenour and Tabytha and Karlee Tharp and his great granddaughter Kora and another on the way. He also leaves behind his sister Carolyn (Phil) Hill, brothers John and Robert Gochenour.

Jim had many friends (too many to list) from doing years of concrete and has always been respected and would give anyone the shirt off of his back. He has made an impact on anyone who has ever met him throughout his life. He became close to a lot of people these past 3 years while he fought his cancer be it from the doctors he has seen and the nurses at the chemo office who called him Cowboy because he was always wearing his white cowboy hat.

Services for Jim will be Saturday July 28th at 1pm at The Lord’s House of Prayer, 6105 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44319. There will also be a dinner afterwards at the hall behind the church. Everyone is welcome to come and share memories of Jim.
