Harry Tyrrell Jr., 89, of New Britain, widower of Constance (Anderson) Tyrrell, passed away peacefully Friday, January 25, 2019 at Apple Rehab in Cromwell. He is the son of the late Myrtle and Harry Tyrrell Sr. Harry served with the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was employed at J.H. Scelza Builders of Newington for 48 years, retiring in 2009. He cherished his time with his family, loved to draw, play board games and cards and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

He will be missed by his entire family. He leaves three daughters, Karen Benoit and her husband Peter, Lynne Cardello and her husband Patrick, and Sandra Tyrrell; a son, Bryan Tyrrell and his wife Denise; six grandchildren, Grant Benoit, Lee Benoit and her husband Nick Dubois , Jessica and Anthony Cardello, Eric and James Tyrrell; a step granddaughter Narissa Chase; two brothers, Philip Tyrrell and his wife Margaret; David Tyrrell and his wife Irene, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Connie, Harry was predeceased by a sister, Dolores St. Peter.

Funeral services are Monday, February 4, 2019 11 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday morning 10 to 11 AM.
