Hagerstown, Maryland-Hazel Irene Carpenter, 91 of Hagerstown, MD went home to be with her Lord on Saturday March 2, 2019 at Julia Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown, MD. Born in Clear Spring, MD on April 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Smith and Bertha May Staley Shupp. She retired in 1974 from Washington County Hospital where she worked as a Nursing Assistant.

She attended Gateway Ministries and Calvary Temple both in Williamsport, MD. Hazel is survived by 4 daughters Rita Robinson of Williamsport, MD, Marie Leonard of Inwood, WV, Norma Kirsch of Ocean City, MD and Linda Yost of Hagerstown, MD, a son Timothy Carpenter of Hagerstown, MD and may loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Carpenter, a son Samuel Carpenter and all of her brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday March 7, 2019 from 9:00am-5:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795. Graveside services will be held on Friday March 8, 2019 at 11:00am with Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating at Greenlawn Memorial Park 127 Britner Ave.
