Heike Fenton passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 from metastic lung cancer. She was 78 years old and lived in Dobbs Ferry, New York, for 46 years. Heike is survived by her two sons, Marc Fenton and Neal Fenton; her brother, Torsten Timmermann; her three grandchildren, Zoe Durham Fenton, Lucas Durham Fenton, and Alejandro James Fenton; her daughter-in-law, Alida Durham Clemans; her beloved dauschund, Lucy; and many dear friends, several of whom, including Joan and Jim Corn and Yardena Youner, were in her in life for more than 50 years.

Heike’s loving husband, Robert A. Fenton, died in 2011. Born in Hamburg, Germany during World War II, Heike journeyed alone to America when she was 19 years old to further her eduction. That bravery and fearless determination came to define the rest of her life as she went on to attend college, raise a family, and start her own successful legal book company, Transnational Publishers.

A self-made woman known for her strong opinions, sophisticated taste, fierce intellect, and incredible generosity, Heike was a voracious reader who loved to swim in her backyard pool, indulge in dark chocolate and white wine, and spend time with her family and friends. In her retirement years, Heike enjoyed walking Lucy around Halsey Pond, playing cut-throat games of Scrabble, and doing whatever she could to improve the lives of those around her. Words cannot describe how deeply we will miss her.
