Burlington – Helen Allen Darnell, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 17, 2018. She was born on August 20, 1922 in Alamance County to the late Will Stanford Allen and Effie Foster Allen and was married to the late William Clyde Darnell, Jr. Helen was a former employee of Reynolds Uniform and a homemaker. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church on Queen Ann Street in Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, five sisters and sister-in-law, Dorothy “Dot” Darnell Brewer. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev.

David McDaniel with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45pm prior to the service on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Hospice and Peak Res for all their loving care and compassion that was shown to Helen during her illness.
