OBITUARY Mrs. Helen G Sikes December 31, 1922 – December 30, 2018 CHAPIN – Helen Goggans Sikes, widow of Jeff Sikes, passed away December 30, 2018. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Helen was born on December 31, 1922 in Newberry, SC to the late Lillie Mae Moore and William Brabham Goggans, Sr. Her career spanned over 50 years in the music and amusement industry. She was a former secretary and treasurer of the S.C. Coin Operator’s Association. She was a devoted member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and served in many capacities.

“Aunt Helen” was a second mother to many and her caring spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She is survived by her special nieces and nephew, Charlotte Boozer of Irmo, Tina Lee (Norman) of Columbia, Richard Lee of Chapin; and great nieces, Morgan Boozer and Olivia Lee.

Also a special couple, Carol and Calvin Rewis of Lexington, SC and her devoted caregiver of nine years, Vera Spires. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Margaret Goggans, Louise Goggans, Betty Faye Guinan, Maggie Shoaf and Greta Sikes; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and siblings, Joan Lee, Pauline Penland, Grady Goggans and William B. Goggans, Jr. Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 3200 Lyles St, Columbia, SC 29201.
