Obituary for Helen L. Kessler Lakin- Helen L. Kessler, 77, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her home in Lakin. She was born on March 21, 1941 at Dodge City the daughter of Ralph & Ruth (Kendall) McCarty. She married Lavern J. Kessler on April 7, 1959 at Lakin.

He died on August 1, 2008. Helen graduated from Plains High School and then moved to Lakin after her marriage. She was a longtime cook for USD # 215 in Lakin.

She was a member of St Anthony Catholic Church, Altar Society & Quilt Guild. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and handiwork. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son- Larry Kessler & Brother- Jim McCarty.

She is survived by 4 Sons- Stanley & Sandra Kessler of Holcomb, Gary & Emily Kessler of Lakin, Ronny & Nancy Kessler of Lakin & Justin Kessler of Lakin, Daughter- Mary & Terry Ginn of Trenton, Nebraska, 17 Grandchildren & 18 Great-Grandchildren. Vigil Service will be at 7:00 PM Friday and Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM Saturday both at St Anthony Catholic Church in Lakin with Rev Peter Tran as Celebrant. Burial will be in Lakin Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin. Memorials are suggested to High Plains Retirement Village Activity Fund or St Anthony Altar Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.
