Obituary for Mary Burback Mary Burback, 81, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Holcomb, Kansas. She was born November 25, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the daughter of Richard Clay & Vinnie (Rhodes) McCracken. Mary has been a resident of Garden City since 1968.

She worked for many years as a cook at USD #457. She later worked at Pizza Hut. Mary enjoyed going to the casinos, playing Bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On December 7, 1958, she married LeRoy Burback in Kimball, Nebraska. He died on August 22, 2009. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother William McCracken; and a sister Nadine Loyall.

Survivors include two children Vicki (John) Anderson of Holcomb, Kansas and Tim Burback of Ainsworth, Nebraska; three brothers Lewis McCracken, Ron McCracken, & Allen McCracken all of El Reno, Oklahoma; a sister JoAnn McCracken of El Reno, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Joe Anderson, Brianna Anderson, Brandon Burback, & Ryan Burback; and ten great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Mary’s Life and luncheon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Eagle’s Lodge in Garden City. The will be no calling hours.

The family suggests memorials given to St. Catherine Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
